National Parks

The Stanthorpe Region is home to a vast variety of National Parks, including the beautiful Girraween National Park and Sundown National Parks located just out of town. Not too far away there is also Bald Rock National Park, Boonoo Boonoo National Park and the Basket Swamp National Park each containing a vast variety of caches to be found.


Several different recreational places exist across the Stanthorpe region including Donnelly's Castle, Glenlyon Dam, Mt Marley Lookout and Storm King Dam. Donnelly's Castle is a maze of different rock formations, where you can climb between, around or over for hours at a time. Accessible off Amiens Road at S 28 33.683 E 151 52.883, why not take a picnic and enjoy the day out. Mount Marley, overlooking the Stanthorpe Township is a great spot to take dinner, and enjoy the sun setting over town whilst enjoying the views of the surrounding mountains.


Stanthorpe has a strong gourmet produce region including outstanding wines, apple farms and strawberry fields.
